About Panchang Darshan
Panchang Darshan is a daily Hindu panchang for Indian cities in Hindi, Marathi, English, Gujarati, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil. It answers the questions families ask every morning — which tithi is today, when Rahu Kaal starts, which choghadiya or Nalla Neram is good for starting work, which festival is coming — for the city you live in, in your language, on a phone.
What makes it different
- Calculated for your city. Sunrise-based timings are computed for each city’s coordinates, not copied from a Delhi table.
- Checked against NASA JPL. The engine is validated against the DE440 ephemeris before every release. See the methodology.
- Each language, its own panchang. Hindi and Gujarati pages carry Choghadiya, Bhadra, Panchak and Disha Shool; Marathi pages follow the Kalnirnay layout; Telugu and Kannada pages carry Durmuhurtam, Varjyam and Amrit Kalam; Tamil pages carry Nalla Neram, Gowri Panchangam, Soolam and the Tamil date. Month names, eras, new-year dates and festival names follow each state’s own calendar.
- Festival dates by rule, not by hand. Every festival is computed from its tithi and the part of the day it must cover, then checked against published regional calendars.
- Corrections in public. Every fix is listed on the corrections page.
How dates are checked
Before a year is published, its festival, Ekadashi, Purnima and muhurat dates are compared with several independent published panchangs for each region. Where respected panchangs follow different conventions, the methodology names the difference and the rule we follow. If your family panchang shows something else, write to us: we reply, and fixes are listed publicly.
